My gf is american and wants to marry me in india, What should i do and we cannot stay togther..?

I am italian and recently got married to an indian man, i now live in india. what i dont understand is, why cant you go to live in the US? If you are married to her you should be able to get a residence permit in the US. Is she working there? and are you working here?
