Will Food Dye Mix Into Lamp Oil?

I have clear highly refined lamp oil, but I would like it in bright pink and wondered if anyone has mixed lamp oil with food dye and how it worked out. I would still like to safely burn the oil also. I have a novel oil lamp that is bright pink, but some of the design has worn off and bright pink oil would camouflage the worn spots for a while. If anyone has a tried and true suggestion on colouring lamp oil, I would be interested in knowing about it.
